FALL DINNER PLANNING

All members of the congregation are needed. We have many tasks/jobs that need to be filled, from traffic control, to babysitting, to cooking and serving meals. We will also need help prior to the day of the dinner, if you can’t sign up for the day we can still use your help. Looking forward to working with everyone.

If you have questions or suggestions, please contact Robin Hirsch or Kris Woolley.

Blessings in Christ, Robin (410)258-7044 and Kris (240)674-2883

Please Don’t Hate Me Because I’m Beautiful!

I would like our church to be able to say this to all who see it. To that end I am going to create a Garden Club. This will be a group of people who can spend some time, maybe once a month helping to beautify the church grounds. Some of you already do things for the church and would be perfect for the group. Others who have a green thumb, or just a strong back, would be welcomed. The more we get, the better our church will look.

Please contact Gene Ashe 301-606-7761 or gfashe@comcast.net if interested.

And before you ask, here are the FAQs:

No, we will not be planting vegetables.

Yes, will be buying some perennials in the fall, and some annuals in the spring to spruce up the place.

Yes, THERE WILL BE WEEDING! Got it? OK.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lynn Ashe is coordinating an effort to paint the kitchen cabinets in Georgetown Hall.

She is looking for anyone willing to help.

She wants to start emptying cabinets August 17 (boxes needed), and painting August 20.

gfashe@comcast.net if interested

COUNTING OUR BLESSINGS

We are requesting that each Sunday, our families bring in non-perishable food items (cereal, soup, etc.) for our local food bank.  This summer, the Food Bank is in need of peanut butter, spaghetti sauce and toilet paper.  Egg cartons are needed to re-package bulk eggs for the families.

All donations will be brought up to the altar and blessed prior to being delivered to the Glade Valley Food Bank.

KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY

The mission of Kairos Prison Ministry, Inc. is to bring Christ's Love and forgiveness to all incarcerated individuals, their families, and those who work with them, and to assist in the transition of becoming a productive citizen.

Psst... You don't have to come to the church to pray.

Pray for these folks in your own sanctuary as necessary.

Thank you and God bless!

Angela Kleimola

Think about it...what if you were the one in prison, alone?  Wouldn't you want some to pray for you?

" Can I Get an AMEN?"

Amen itself is an interjection used to agree with, affirm, approve, or emphasize something else that has been said.

Thus when Jesus begins certain sayings by declaring "Amen, amen, I say to you . . . "
